Hi everyone.
We know a lot of you have noticed the little pop-up when you log in each morning. The one about updated terms of employment. We wanted to explain it in plain language, because we think transparency matters.
Every move you make, every breath you take, I’m watching you
Here’s what it means. Every day you sign in, you’re agreeing that the company owns the data that comes out of your workday. Your emails. Your messages. Your badge swipes. Where you are, when you’re there, how long you stayed. We’re keeping all of it under our control now. For security, obviously. You can’t be too careful these days.
One small exception, and we want to be upfront about this too. Anything connected to management’s own decisions, meetings, or conduct is excluded from this policy. That data stays separate. We just think some things work better with a little privacy.

Now here’s the fun part. We had some people look into what this kind of information is actually worth, out there in the world, if a company ever wanted to do something with it. Turns out the market for this stuff is enormous. Well over a billion dollars a year right now, and on track to triple within the next several years. Every email you send, every door you badge through, every minute you’re logged in, it’s quietly worth something, all the time, to somebody.
We think that’s worth celebrating. So we’re floating an idea, still early, still just a concept of a plan, where everyone shares a little in that value someday*. Nothing official yet. But the thought is there. Until then, keep doing what you’re doing. Every breath, every move, we see it, and honestly, we’re grateful.
Warmly,
The Aluminum Lady ❤️✈️💋
