Dear Airline Family,
I wanted to take a moment to personally share an exciting update regarding our Layover Hotel Experience. As part of our continued commitment to thoughtful cost stewardship, we are introducing a series of targeted enhancements designed to bring greater efficiency, flexibility, and alignment across our network.
Over the past several months, headquarters has also undertaken a close review of the overall comfort and enjoyment profile associated with company-paid layovers. As you can imagine, when rest begins drifting too close to leisure, it is only responsible for leadership to take a thoughtful look.
You may begin to notice:
— A more streamlined room refresh approach, allowing for quicker transitions and a more fluid arrival experience — New hotel partnerships aligned to layover duration, creating a more tailored and time-conscious stay — A curated selection of independent boutique properties, offering unique locations in vibrant, service-rich neighborhoods
These enhancements allow us to better balance operational needs while ensuring the customer experience — and the executive experience — remain uninterrupted.
We’ve also been encouraged by how receptive many of our new hotel partners have been. In several cases, existing leadership relationships have allowed us to move quickly and secure very accommodating arrangements.
We understand change invites questions. Please know these adjustments are not intended to appear punitive, but rather reflect a proactive effort to ensure that company-funded accommodations remain appropriately supportive without becoming overly indulgent.
As always, we will continue to monitor team feedback closely. Your resilience and adaptability remain some of our most valuable operational assets.
After all, a layover should restore function, not inspire attachment.
How reassuringly tiered.
Warmly maintaining altitude, The Aluminum Lady ✈️
